"I believe common sense tells us we don't have an education
problem because we're not spending enough, we have an
education problem because we're not getting our money's worth
for what we spend.  Now, there are some areas such as teachers'
salaries where new incentives are clearly needed for better pay.
This can be done at the State and local level. But there are many
more areas where the agenda for excellence is not spelled "more
spending," but "better learning."

What Is The Educators Witness Protection Program?

Parents, teachers and taxpayers are saying ENOUGH to wasteful spending on school finance.

There are many education employees who have seen the wasteful spending and education
curriculum controlled by the powerful education lobbies resulting in less pay for teachers and
“dumbed down” education for children.  These observations and ideas could be invaluable
information for legislators in the anticipated upcoming Special Session on school finance.
However, educators are fearful to speak out for fear of retaliation by administrators and powerful
education unions.  We want to provide a vehicle for those education employees to anonymously
report their ideas and their observations -- so we are establishing the Educator Witness
Protection Program.

Only about 50 cents on every dollar actually goes to classroom instruction.  Texas ranked
second among 50 states in total public education expenditures for 2002-03, spending $40.7
billion on education or $10,400 per student yet we still are not seeing improvements in student
performance. Though the education bureaucracy constantly demands more money and wants
less parental involvement, until we make fundamental changes, we will continue with the status
quo.  More money won't solve the problem.  We need help from the education community to
break the destructive cycle of putting more and more money into wasteful SPENDING and less
and less money into the classroom.

Often, teachers leave the classroom to go into administrative positions so they can
make more money.  That is just plain wrong!  Good teachers should receive more
compensation than administrators!

If you are an educator or know educators who want more money in the classroom, and less
money wasted, but who fear retaliation if they speak out, contact us at

We will not ask for names or other personal information and will assure anonymity.
